An athlete must be able to accomplish two things in two completely different realms. He must first be cognizant of the proper techniques and reactions to every possible blockthe mental realm. Then, he must be able to effectively react and counter the block once he makes that precise readthe physical realm. A tremendous physical specimen with some learning difficulties is a glorified bench sitter in the comprehensive system. He simply can't master the cognitive realmhe can't remember what to do because he has too much to do.

The across-the-face reactionary response is the preferred way of playing the fold block, particularly the outside fold block.
